2013 BMW International Open Betting Preview, Predictions and Tips
BMW International Open, Golfclub München Eichenried
Early odds on the exchanges
Ross Fisher 38/1
Ross is playing mainly on the PGA Tour this year and after a tough start to the season, began to find form in early May. Tied 10th at the Wells Fargo was followed by a solid showing at Wentworth, then a solo eighth at the Nordea Masters. Missed the cut at the St Jude Classic last time out but Fisher will relish a return to Germany where he has top 10âd for the past three years. Has a best of second behind David Horsey in 2010.
Henrik Stenson 20/1
Henrik hasnât started a strokeplay event in mainland Europe since the Portugal Masters in 2012 where he tied sixth and he has reinvented himself as a straight hitter on the PGA Tour this year. Big finishes at Arnieâs tournament (tied eighth), Houston (tied second) and The Players Championship (tied fifth). The Swede has three top 10âs in the last five years at this tournament including tying ninth in 2011 and tying sixth last year in Larchenof. I think heâll have a good week.
Pablo Larrazabal 32/1
The Spaniard may have missed the cut in a wet Austria last time out, but he had four consecutive top 15âs before that, including a tied sixth in Korea and tied fifth in China. Larrazabal won last time they played here in Eichenried in 2011 and interestingly won the Open de France in the same week in June in2008. Itâs Karma!
Marcel Siem 40/1
The home favourite this week is Marcel Siem. The ponytailed one has already added a Trophee Hassan win in March to his Open de France title from 2012, but has been playing almost exclusively on the PGA Tour this year with limited success. Played all four rounds of the US Open last week, if heâs not exhausted, Marcel should find this a doddle compared to Merion!
Joost Luiten 32/1
The super consistent Dutchman has six top 25âs in his last seven starts on the European Tour culminating in his win last time out in Austria. Has a best of tied third in 2011 behind Larrazabal.
Best Of The Rest
I also like Mark Foster 95/1 at this time of the year. Tied third here in 2011 and top 20âd again last year. Showed he still has plenty of game with a tied fifth in Portrush last year and has finished under par in his last three tournaments. Worth a little each way flutter.
David Horsey 50/1 has missed his last two cuts at Wentworth and Austria but prior to that he scored three top sixes including a tied second in Morocco. Horsey won here in 2010, and heâll have been working hard to find form.
Paul Casey 38/1 played all four rounds of the US Open after getting through in sectional qualifying and heâll be looking for a good week in Germany. Tied for third at the height of his powers in 2008.
