Rain shortens par-4 at Nelson to 104 yards - Golf Channel (press release) (blog)

A par-4 measuring 104 yards? Welcome to the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship, where soggy conditions continue to dominate.

The Dallas/Fort Worth area has been beseiged by heavy rains in recent weeks, and the Four Seasons Resort was already on the brink of saturation before tournament play began. While the opening round was completed without a weather delay, the course received more than four inches of rain overnight, rendering a wet course simply unplayable.

The PGA Tour announced a three-hour delay to the start of the second round, then followed up with a rather unconventional course setup adjustment: the 14th hole, which is listed on the scorecard as a 406-yard par 4, will instead play only 104 yards during the second round because of water in the fairway.

While the hole was originally kept as a par-4, Tour officials decided to reduce it to a par-3 once play began. That means the course will play as a par 69 during the second round.

Gary Woodland made the most of the changes, holing a wedge shot for one of the more unusual aces in Tour history.

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
