Pics: Fun With Chubby As Tiger Hits Bridge Shot From Turkey Into Asia

Update:  Well here it is! And a piece from the European Tour.

Tiger Woods achieved another first in his long and illustrious career while in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Tuesday, becoming the first golfer to hit balls from east to west off the Bosphorus Bridge.

Woods, one of the most recognisable athletes on the planet, struck several shots from the iconic structure that connects Asia and Europe in front of international and local media.

“To be the first golfer to do this was very cool,” said the 14-time major championship winner and world number one, who headlines Turkey’s first ever European Tour event, the US $7million Turkish Airlines Open by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, this week.

“I have really enjoyed my visit to Istanbul. To see the Bosphorus for the first time was a very enjoyable and memorable experience.”

The 1,510-metre, gravity-anchored suspension bridge, which was closed on one side for 20 minutes while Woods played his shots, is located between the Asian shore of Beylerbeyi and European neighbourhood of Ortaköy. It is one of the most distinguishable landmarks in Istanbul, a vibrant city renowned for its rich history.

There’s great fun this morning from Chubby Chandler on twitter because he’s all excited about organizing a Tiger Woods publicity stunt.

Later today Tiger will hit a shot from a bridge bordering Turkey and Asia as part of his Turkish Open promotional duties.

Chubby has been busy ferreting around doing important stuff like briefing chopper pilots on how to fly and dressing middle aged security men as teenagers.

Initially Chubby had tweeted that Tiger was hitting a ball on the busiest bridge he’d ever seen from Asia into Europe, until someone reminded him that Turkey was in Europe not Asia and that the opposite was most likely to be the case.

However the best bit of banter came when Chubby discussed Tiger’s rather low profile last visit to Turkey when the locals didn’t really have a clue who he was. Mattyob16 was quick to reply!

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
