There was no doubting in the world that Jimmy Walker was adding the Greenbrier to his schedule after he let Jonas Blixt pinch the title from under his nose last season. Old White TPC has
been a cash machine for Walker since the inaugural staging in 2010 with two T4âs (2010 and 2011) and that T2 last year.
Its Jimmyâs first start since a T9 at Pinehurst made it three top 10âs in his last four starts. Might be rusty but heâs the horse for the course.
Tied fifth on his last two outings. Started like a train with a 62 at the Travelers and started like a banger with a 74 at Congressional but as they say âitâs not how you start itâs how you finishâ and Steele has certainly done that well of late. Didnât happen for him here last year (T41) but take note that Steele finished T7 in 2012 and 2011. Adding those stats to his current form make him a live each way shot at 50/1.
Brendon Todd has no course form to speak of (T46 in 2012) but his form is just so irresistible at present he could contend anywhere. Since winning the HP Byron Nelson, Todd went T5 at Colonial, T8 at Memorial, T17 at Pinehurst and T5 last week at Congressional. Call the emergency services because Brendon Todd is on FIRE!
Really hoping (more than feeling) Brendan is on the cusp of making a breakthrough in terms of an each way payout this week from 33/1. Super consistent with four top 30âs in his previous five season starts, then threw in a T8 on a brutally tough Congressional layout last week. deJOnge was third her
e in 2010, T4 in 2011 and T17 last year after a third round setback.

The Aussie remains one of the very few to have shot a 59 on the PGA Tour and did so here on his way to winning in 2010. I certainly think the bookies have made an error here with odds of 125/1. Yes Appleby did slip to a 76, 77 finish at Congressional last week but Iâm looking more to the 70, 67 start for comfort. He also finished T18 at The Travelers finishing Sunday with a 64. If punters cash in the Aussie at 125/1, some odds setter is going to have his backside slapped next Monday.
Poor old Ted has more missed cuts than a rusty scissors but as I always say, thereâs just something about going back to a place of happy memories that brings the best out of players. Potter won here in a playoff in 2012 and defended admirably last season with a T6. Showed at the St Jude Classic (T13) that heâs not a complete write off!
