Pic: Rory McIlroy Makes Surprise Appearance At Galway Driving Range And Attempts To Catch Balls

Punters at Galway Golf Range got the shock of a liftetime yesterday when two time Major Champion Rory McIlroy showed up unannounced on the range.  Not only that, but McIlroy positioned himself 150 yards in the landing area and attempted to catch golf balls that players hit straight at him.

rory robotI am of course referring to the all new for 2014 Rory McIlroy Washing Machine target which debuted at the Salthill venue yesterday.

In a play on the lore of child Rory chipping balls into a washing machine on a TV show and his recreation versus a robot for Nike in 2013, Chris and Adrian have cleverly dressed an old washing machine up AS Rory and challenged punters to hit balls into his mouth.

“It’s just the first of many challenges were hoping to feature out there on the range for golfers,” Chris Mahony at Galway Golf Range said. “Next we are adding a gong at 300 yards, a la the European Tour’s everyshotimaginable video.  If you can sound the gong, I’ll personally write you a certificate of achievement!”

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
