Golf Professional Wes Mensing, 27, Killed in New York City Accident - Golf Channel (press release) (blog)

Wes Mensing, recently named by Golf Digest as one of America’s Best Young Teachers, was struck and killed by a car Saturday in New York City, according to local media reports. He was 27.

Mensing was the director of instruction at Plainfield Country Club in Edison, N.J., which this year will host the PGA Tour’s Barclays. Two months ago, he was recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top 40 instructors under age 40.

According to New York City police, Mensing and a woman were crossing the intersection of East 62nd Street and Lexington Avenue at 7:45 p.m. when they were struck by an SUV. Mensing was pronounced dead at New York Hospital, while the woman, 30-year-old Erin Sauchelli, was listed in stable condition.  

The 45-year-old male behind the wheel received a summons for driving without a license.

Mensing graduated from Methodist University in 2009 and worked as an instructor at the Jim McLean Golf School in South Florida before being hired as the director of instruction at Plainfield.

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
