Caddies bristle at shelter offered during storm - Golf Channel (press release) (blog)

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. â€" As torrential rains put a halt to the third round of the Honda Classic, players and fans sought shelter in many of the hallways at PGA National.

Caddies, however, were offered alternative accommodations.

Caddies do not have clubhouse access during PGA Tour events. The shelter they were offered Saturday provided little respite from the severe storms that dropped an estimated five inches of rain on the Champion Course, as evidenced by a video from Steve Catlan, who loops for Robert Streb:

Accommodations during such inclement weather is one of the many issues championed by the Association of Professional Tour Caddies, which was formed in 2013. The APTC has also fought for a health program and retirement benefits for its members, and earlier this month a collection of caddies filed a $50 million lawsuit against the Tour. Among other issues, the suit alleged that caddies are "treated as second-class participants in the game."

While his player Brandt Snedeker is not in the field this week at PGA National, caddie Scott Vail was one of several individuals who took to social media to address the accommodations â€" or lack thereof â€" for his colleagues:

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
