2013 Wells Fargo Championship Betting Preview and Tips

Quail Hollow Club, Charlotte, NC, Purse: $6,700,000 The Course For the second consecutive time in 10 years, Quail Hollow Club averaged under par in 2012, erasing its reputation as one of the toughest par 72’s on Tour. Holes 16, 17 and 18, two par fours with a par three sandwiched in the middle, is known as the Green Mile and is traditionally the toughest stretch on the course. Great putting has defined the winners week on this 7,469-yard track, with Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler both supreme on the greens in winning here. The venue has its problems with the surfaces this year however , having to take the unprecedented measure of re-laying two entire greens last week. D.A. Points 36/1 After an early season run of seven missed cuts in eight events, D.A Points has been reborn with a win in the Shell Houston Open and a solo second again last week at the Zurich Classic where he closed with a 65. Points made into a three man playoff with Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy here last year, wh

My Spy Pics From The Masters: Woman With Ass In Air And Bit Of An “A” Missing

Image
GolfCentralDaily has it’s network of spies everywhere and the Masters is no different.  Here’s what my Masters covert operative spotted yesterday. First stop for my James Bond-esque agent was the food hall where he availed of some very reasonably sized sandwiches and a strawberry slushee. On my orders, he then ventured down a road that said Do Not Enter. We love roads like that.  Unfortunately, all it yielded was a woman with a large ass in the air as she prepared the flowers for behind the 12th green.     Now what the hell is this disk shaped object?  A stool?  Whatever it is, it even has the Masters logo machined out of it.  Holy crap, I bet the toilet paper in Augusta is even embossed. Now how do they ensure that every patron only takes one tee time sheet?  They print it nicely on a bird house of course.  And have a six foot eight guard standing just out of camera shot, just to be sure. Did you notice a bit of the “A” from “AND” is missing. Now that is slack Aug

Doc’s Pro Lesson: The Kinematic Sequence

Image
This week’s lesson comes from PGA Professional Wayne O’Callaghan at his academy in Fernhill Golf Club, Carrigaline Cork. info@wayneocallaghangolf.com , www.fernhillcountryclub.com   Have you ever wondered how someone like Jim Furyk has won a US Open with such an unorthodox golf swing? Fortunately with the aid of 3D motion capture systems research has identified the true measurement of a good golf swing. The answer is not that your swing resembles Tiger woods on a video camera, the answer is in the efficiency of your golf swing compared to the best players in the world. The Kinematic sequence is where golfers generate speed and transfer it through their bodies and to the clubhead. There is an identical sequence of speed generation for all great ball strikers. That sequence is lower body first, thorax second, lead arm third and club shaft next. Each segment of the body builds on the previous segment, increasing speed up the chain. Each segment slows down as the next segment continue

2013 Zurich Classic Of New Orleans Betting Preview and Tips

Image
Zurich Classic of New Orleans, TPC Louisiana, Avondale, LA, Purse: $6,600,000 Early odds on the exchanges Jason Dufner 19/1 It has been a steady if unspectacular year for Jason Dufner but he seems to save some of his best golf for Louisiana every year. A tied 20 th at The Masters and tied 35 th at Hilton Head represent an improvement after missing the cut at Arnie’s tournament. Since tying for ninth in 2009, Jason has improved his result here on each visit since (T7 in 2010, T3 in 2011) culminating in a win last year. Rory Sabbatini 120/1 Probably one of the most divisive players on Tour and certainly one of the most determined. Four of his six Tour wins have come between February and May but the South African is now only finding form again after missing 11 cuts between July 2012 and March this year. Tied for 30 th in Peurto Rico, then 27 th in Tampa before returning with a tied ninth at the RBC Heritage. Has a best of tied second at TPC Louisiana in 2009 when Jerry Kelly won.

GCD’s Top 5 Sexiest Golfing Babes Who Have Been Known To Play

Image
Every now and again GolfCentralDaily.com gets away from the heavy, thought provoking issues of the day, to delve into its reader’s suggestion box.  Having tipped out the box earlier today, the first 200 notes said we don’t focus enough on ladies golf.  This had to be addressed immediately. It was a tough task, but we’ve girded our loins and come up with the top 5 best looking babes in women’s golf, who sometimes can actually play a bit too.  So in descending order……… 5. Suzann Pettersen Probably regrets ever doing this photoshoot, but hey, who can resist hitting free golf balls into the sea? 4. Anna Rawson A bit wobbly in the knees for some, but at least with Anna you’re never going to not know what temperature it is outside.  Those things could have your eye out! 3. Meghan Hardin So close to being the perfect golf babe, one letter away in fact! Meghan Hardon would have been the icing on the cake! Still to make it big, Meghan’s hoping to spend her first payc

also check out my Zurich Classic Of New Orleans Tips here. Felipe Aguilar 40/1 The Chilean played great to get into the playoff last week in Parador de El Saler and has the game to contend again this week at Blackstone. Seems to have found form after three missed cuts in March. Started the season well with three top 10’s including tied thirds in Dubai and Johannesburg. Was tied fourth at the halfway point here last year and finished tied seventh. Richie Ramsay 25/1 Only one top 10 this season to date at the Volvo Golf Champions but I was impressed with his tied 15 th last time out in Morocco after a first round of 74. Ramsay tied for 13 th in 2011 and finished solo second in 2012. Lightly raced with only five starts in 2013 but Richie has already travelled from South Africa, to the Emirates, to Arizona, to Morocco and now to South Korea! Mikko Ilonen 45/1 Fully fit again, Mikko continues to impress this season. Tied 17 th at the weather affected Malaysian Open then tied secon

Higgs On Tour: David Higgins Tour Diary Part 5

Image
Hi everyone, David here. It was nice to feature on the leaderboard early last week at the Open de Espana, but I really felt I let what was a great chance get away from me. The greens at El Saler de Parador were very firm so it was not easy to get it close to the pins. It was also a very tight driving track and that suited me. The course played very much like my home course, Waterville links. I came to Spain playing well. During the last couple of weeks off I played a lot of golf with my Dad and he got me hitting the ball very well. It was more in my way of thinking rather than any technical stuff. He told I must stay aggressive through my shots; that’s when I strike it best. Off the course I did a lot of fly fishing during my weeks off. My Dad gave me a gift of a lovely new rod and it got my appetite back to go and land a big one! I watched the marathon playoff from my hotel near Alicante. I was up for the young German Max Kieffer, he’s a sound lad and his caddie, Gary John Marsha
